This explains what information Forge Digital collects when you visit this site or get in touch, and what happens to it — written in plain English on purpose, not dense legal filler.
Who we are
Forge Digital is run by Leif Davies, based in North East England. For anything to do with this policy or your data, contact hello@northeastforge.co.uk.
What we collect
When you use the contact form: your first name, last name, email address, phone number (if you choose to give it), business type, which package you're interested in, and whatever you write in the message field.
Automatically, when you browse the site: anonymised visit statistics — which pages get viewed, roughly where visitors are located, and what kind of device they're using. This is handled by Vercel Web Analytics, which is built to work without cookies and without identifying you personally. We don't use any tracking or advertising cookies on this site.
How your enquiry actually gets to us
When you submit the contact form, it doesn't get stored on this website or pass through any server we run. It opens your own email app with the message pre-filled, and it's sent directly from your device to our inbox — the same as writing us an email yourself. If you close that window without hitting send, nothing is sent anywhere.
Why we collect it
Only to respond to your enquiry and, if it goes ahead, to deliver the project you've asked about. Analytics data is used only to understand how the site is used in aggregate, so we can make it better.
Who we share it with
Nobody, for marketing or otherwise. Your enquiry lands in our own inbox — it isn't sold, rented, or handed to third parties. The site itself runs on Vercel's hosting infrastructure, and our domain and email routing runs through Namecheap; both providers process some technical data purely to keep the site and email running, not to build a profile of you.
How long we keep it
Only as long as it's useful — typically for the length of any conversation or project with you, and a reasonable period afterwards in case you get back in touch. If you'd like anything deleted sooner, just ask.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete your data
- restrict or object to how we use it
- give you a copy in a portable format

Where your data is processed
Our hosting provider (Vercel) may process data on servers outside the UK/EEA as part of running the site. Where that happens, it's covered by their own standard data protection safeguards.

If this changes, we'll update the date at the top — worth a glance back if it's been a while since you last read it.
